So, you think the Toyota GR Yaris is the most extreme road-going homologation special around? Well, think again, for if our eyes don’t deceive us, an even more hardcore model has been spotted on the Nürburgring in the form of the 2021 Yaris GRMN.
Debuting in a video filmed by ‘Automotive Mike’, the aero-festooned hot hatch was seen flying around the Nordschleife during an industry pool day. While the first iteration of the GR Yaris has barely had time to warm its tyres (a set was warmed quite thoroughly in the Goodwood SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard rally ‘Super Special’), its successor is already champing at the bit.
The prototype seen in this video features even more performance enhancing elements, comprising a new and huge rear wing and new winglets on the front bumper. A carbon-fibre roof and stiffer suspension is also expected when the car hits the road in 2021.
With a professional driver behind the wheel, it doesn’t hang around on the ‘Ring. And if the original is anything to go by, this is going to be epic…
