Volkswagen has revealed the Golf R 333 Limited Edition sporting a lurid paint job, more power, go-faster accessories and a brimmed equipment list. Oh, and it costs £65,802.
Spotting the R 333 will be easy as it only comes from the factory in a very un-VW lurid Lime Yellow paint with black contrast black accents.
Based on the Golf R Performance, the R 333 – so called because it packs 333PS (10PS more than standard) – gets an R Performance titanium exhaust from Akrapovič and black 19-inch Estoril wheels shod in semi-slick tyres.
VW's also loosened the standard car's 155mph speed limiter, meaning the R 333 tops out at 167mph, while 0-62mph is dispatched in just 4.6 seconds.
Standard equipment is generous and includes sport seats in Nappa leather, LED matrix headlights, 480W Harman Kardon stereo and a suite of autonomous driving aids.
Billed as a genuine collector's item, just 333 examples of the R 333 will be built. It goes on sale on 2nd June priced from £65,802 (€76,410), and it'll only be available from German showrooms.
