Future Lab connected ESA and NASA with Epic Games to create Lunar Horizons, which was exclusively launched at FL2023. Lunar Horizons is a vividly immersive experience set on the Moon during a future international mission. Learn about space as you play, explore the lunar landscape and interact with other astronauts, and discover amazing facts about real-life European Moon missions, the wonders of space, and the work of ESA.

Future Lab brought Shadow Robot’s robotic hand collection to the public, including their tele-operated hands and the dynamic debut of their latest, world-leading dexterous hand, made for machine learning in collaboration with Google Deepmind.

In 2023, Future Lab brought the James Webb telescope to life with a immersive corridor of images from the first 18 months of the JWST mission; featuring large-scale photography, models and interactive science experiments for kids.

The student-led Durham University Solar Car (DUSC) team unveiled their four-wheeled solar race car, Ortus-T , before solidifying their position as UK National Champions in the iLumen European Solar Car Challenge. While the three-wheeled DUSC2023 took on the Hillclimb and set the first record for a solar-powered race car.

In 2021, Gravity Industries, developer of a proven, versatile, real-world jet suit, unveiled its prototype for a future, sustainable electric jet race suit design.
