Ever since I was a child, I have visited The Goodwood Estate and would always look at the House in awe, imagining what it would be like to get married there.
Darcey
A childhood dream came true for bride Darcey, who always envisioned getting married at Goodwood House. Rewinding back to when the wedding venue search began for the pair, the House immediately made its way to the top of the shortlist.
“After our engagement, Ryan and I arranged to see a few venues but nothing compared to Goodwood House. Its character and history combined with its magnificent grandeur made it stand out like no other. The first time we visited the House we were welcomed so warmly, and we were both blown away by the magnitude of its beauty. We knew straight away that we couldn’t ask for a more perfect venue.”

Picturing their big day, plans started to come together from the food to the flower arrangements. Feeling that the House spoke for itself, the couple sought advice from a brilliant florist who shaped beautiful, tall candelabra centrepieces, combined with lower arrangements, to really complement the rooms.
“The thought of planning a wedding was quite daunting, but having our wedding planner, Rhiannon, at the end of the phone made it so easy and our regular meetings helped reassure us that everything was under control.
We had a wonderful afternoon with Rhiannon, trying different food options, all of which exceeded our expectations. Mike, the Head Chef at Goodwood House, was so accommodating and our canapés, wedding breakfast and evening food were all delicious. Choosing our menu for the day couldn’t have been easier.”
We had our reception in the Ballroom which is breath-taking. We had 100 guests during the day, and although the room is so opulent and grand, the atmosphere still felt incredibly intimate.
Darcey
Throughout the State Apartments, Ryan and Darcey were able to put their own stamp on their special day. The Supper Room was transformed with a star cloth to create the perfect atmosphere for their evening celebrations, whilst casino tables were set up to entertain guests in the Red Hall too.
Having Head Butler, David, and his exceptional team to hand was a big highlight for the couple.
“On the day of the wedding David and his team were exceptional and an absolute pleasure to be around. All of our guests commented on how wonderful the service was, and the team went out of their way to make everyone feel so special.”
I really don’t feel any words can do Goodwood House justice. The entire Goodwood Estate is remarkable, and to have all of our friends and family treated like Royalty for the day surrounded by such wonderful staff who are clearly so passionate about what they do made for an unforgettable wedding with memories that we will cherish forever.
