Speaking with bride, Lara, she said:
“Our wedding day at Goodwood House was everything we could have wished it to be, and more. The Estate was the most beautiful setting, surrounded by fields and beautiful trees in the parkland. The grandeur of the house was the perfect backdrop. We loved the formal rooms as they had such relaxed and romantic feeling about them.
From the moment we arrived the staff were so attentive, friendly and professional; they really made us feel special. The food was delicious, even the vegetarian course was unforgettable. We really didn’t want the day to end!"
For any bride and groom your wedding day has many highlights, however for Lara and Ben the highlights lasted for more than just one day.
“With Goodwood, it wasn’t just the day itself that was a highlight, it was the whole planning and build up to it. I loved visiting the showcase events at the House, the food tasting was delicious and being able to pick our hotel rooms was good fun!
One of my favourite, most cherished moments of the day itself (as well as marrying my husband of course!) was the sneak peek we had of the Ballroom before all our guests came through. The Head Butler, David came to get us to show us the Ballroom and I’ll never forget the beautiful warm smell of the flowers with the glow of many candles flickering about the grand space. Everything was just perfect and seeing our vision come together in the awe-inspiring Ballroom was a moment we will never forget.”
Goodwood House was the easiest decision out of all our wedding plans. It felt like we were entertaining in our own home for the day.

Our team of Goodwood House staff work tirelessly to ensure your day runs smoothly. Lara said:
“The Goodwood team were welcoming and accommodating from the very beginning. Our wedding planner, Hannah was a pleasure to deal with. She took on board all of our wishes for the day and nothing was a hassle. It was wonderful having someone at the end of the phone I could chat through ideas with, discussing all the little details from the fold of the napkins, to the live band. The recommended suppliers list was also really helpful with the whole planning, as there is so much peace of mind in knowing it was a trusted supplier.
On the day itself the staff were exceptional and professionally presented; from the waitresses’ uniforms, to the Head Butlers hand shake and reassuring words, they really made us feel so special. It felt like we were entertaining in our own home for the day. David knew what we wanted before we even knew we wanted it!”
When describing Goodwood House as a wedding venue, the couple collectively said:
“Goodwood House is a venue that oozes history and elegance. We absolutely love history, so to be surrounded in such a wonderful opulent setting with royal portraits, historical artefacts and heirlooms was a real treat. We loved the fact that we could really make the venue our own for the day.
We also loved that the Goodwood Hotel was just at the end of the drive, with beautiful contemporary bedrooms and a cosy bar to finish the night off with bacon sandwiches and a final G&T!"
And lastly, we asked Lara and Ben why they chose Goodwood House as the venue for special day.
“Goodwood House was the easiest decision out of all our wedding plans; it had always been my dream venue! We’ve lived in the area for almost 30 years and have been to many of the Goodwood events, so it has always been a place full of happy memories for us. Goodwood House was the first and only venue we visited for our wedding, we fell in love with it even more when we visited and booked it that evening!”
