The truck accelerated sideways off the Start Line and remained that way for most of the climb up the Hill. It features a Chromoly-steel chassis and fibreglass body panels. Meanwhile, power comes from the same turbocharged four-cylinder found in the old Toyota Celica GT4, though it is tuned to more than 600PS (441kW) in the truck.
And you can tell. The widebody truck lights up, its rear wheels flicking into right-angle drifts on almost every corner the Hill has to offer. Tuerck even had time for doughnuts in front of Goodwood House before returning to his primary job of remaining as sideways as possible everywhere.
The truck’s unique blend of period looks, (very) un-period performance, and four-cylinder bark in place of the expected V8-rumble of an old load hauler, makes it one of the most intriguing machines to tackle the Hill today.
