Revival Track Opening Parade to celebrate 60 years of Meyers Manx

29th April 2024
Simon Ostler

The Track Opening Parade at the 2024 Goodwood Revival will be bringing the summer holiday vibes as up to 100 pre-1966 beach buggies take to the Motor Circuit to kick off proceedings on all three days of the event.

Central to the parade will be a special contingent of Meyers Manx buggies to celebrate the brand’s 60th anniversary. The first prototypes of the famous dune buggy were built in 1964, and although that initial production run came to an end in 1971, its popularity remained in the decades following. The brand returned in the 2000s with modernised designs, but the original Meyers Manx remains a cult model.

As a special teaser to what is bound to be an eye-catching spectacle, there will be a special collection of beach buggies on display as part of the Cartier Style et Luxe at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.

The Revival Track Opening Parade is always a great opportunity for us to showcase a more light hearted exponent of the automotive world. In previous years we’ve had countless Fiat 500s an army of Minis, and last year we welcome 200 classic motorcycles.
