At Goodwood we have one eye on the past, celebrating all facets of motoring and motorsport history, and one eye on the future, bringing the latest in bleeding-edge road and racing machinery out for you to see. Electric cars are a big part of the future and we reckon there are many worth your attention. We asked SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard presenter Rory Reid to round up the coolest electrically-powered cars at SpeedWeek and the variety on offer is truly excellent.
From Ford’s crazy Mustang Mach-E 1400 race and drift prototype, to the Lotus Evija all-electric hypercar, to a full-on single-seater Formula E racer, to an electrified Ford Fiesta rally car. The range of silent neck-snapping performance on display was enormous. In terms of cars on sale right now, Porsche’s Taycan was out on track showing the petrol-powered supercars what electric performance looks like, while the Polestar One super hybrid dropped jaws with its beauty. Which of these could convince you to make the switch?
