It was at the Hockenheimring where it saw its best finish of the season, taking victory in the hands of Gerhard Berger. In a year marred by tragedy, with the deaths of Roland Ratzenberger and Aryton Senna at the San Marino Grand Prix, and the subsequent rule changes to the tracks and cars, the 412 T1 proved consistent, with Berger and team-mates Jean Alesi and Nicola Larini achieving several second and third places.
The 412 T1 was named for its valves per cylinder (four), number of cylinders (12) and its transverse six-speed, plus reverse gearbox (T1). Putting out 750PS (558.7kw) at 15,300rpm and weighing just 505kg, it is an incredible machine, as can be seen from this Belgian Motorsport YouTube compilation. Take ten minutes to enjoy blistering flybys and incredible close-ups, filmed between 2011-2019 at Circuit Zolder, Spa-Francorchamps and the Nürburgring.
