We’ve seen our fair share of Ford Galaxies here at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, both at the Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport and the Revival, but we’ve never seen one put through its paces quite like this.
The enormous V8 monster looks pretty ungainly at the best of times, never truly flat regardless of whether it’s going through a corner or down a straight. They look like they’re crazy fun yet utterly terrifying to drive in equal measure, certainly not a car to put in the hands of a beginner. This, however, is one of the most incredible things we’ve ever seen.
A Ford Galaxie, almost 5.5 metres long and more than two metres wide, weaves its way through an impossibly twisty agility course. Quite how this car even fits between some of the cones is a mystery – think The Chicane at Goodwood Motor Circuit but narrower – but the speed at which this very talented driver is taking on the course is simply mind-blowing.
Granted, it would seem as though some work has been done to tighten up the ride a little, but it’s still powered by a meaty big block V8 and riding on board gives a feel akin to a ferry crossing on rough seas. Best to let your lunch go down first.
