Porsche’s racing history is comprehensively brilliant, with everything from the revered 356 to the modern-day 911 RSR excelling in their respective fields. And so a 70th anniversary race was more than justified, with the Circuit de la Sarthe hosting the Porsche Classic Race Le Mans back in 2018.
The race featured models from throughout the German manufacturer’s illustrious history, from those early 1950s 356s, to the 1973 2.8 RSR and the production 356 A and B series. Alongside prototypes from the ‘50s and ‘60s raced various 911s, including Ss, Ts, RSRs and 914/6s variants.
It made for a spectacular grid, as you can see from the cockpit of this 911 Carrera RSR 2.8-litre. Revel in the glorious sound of its screaming flat-six and enjoy the most comprehensive Porsche race you’ll likely ever see.
