We are used to Lotus Cortinas leading the charge here at the Goodwood Revival, three-wheeling round corners and generally showing up the competition. But it's still great to get another take on the ballistic Blue Ovals.

Today this comes from a scintillating onboard from John Spiers as he, well, 'spears' his way through the field from 25^th position in the 2017 Historic Sports Car Club Superprix to find himself doing battle with another of Ford's blue collar heroes, a first generation Mustang. All the action takes place at Brands Hatch, one of Britain's finest circuits – apart from our own of course – and it is fascinating to see the two cars, so familiar to Revival racegoers, do battle on the tighter, twistier confines of the Kentish track with its dramatic elevation changes. If we can't have Goodwood on a summer's day then Brands Hatch for a belter of a race will do.
