We can't pretend that historic racing isn't our favourite form of motorsport. We of course enjoy plenty of it here at Goodwood, but it's always fun to see what these cars get up to when they're not tearing it up on our Motor Circuit.
Inaugurated in 2020, the Estoril Classics organised by Peter Auto and held at the legendary Estoril circuit, the scene of Ayrton Senna's first F1 victory in 1985, has become a popular event on the historic motorsport calendar.
Among its entry list is the 2.0-litre cup, which reminds us more than a little of the spectacular Fordwater Trophy we witnessed at the 2023 Revival. A race for classic 2.0-litre Porsche 911s from that original 1964-'69 era.
With that sumptuous air-cooled flat-six seated right at the back of the car, their tail-happy tendencies make them some of the most spectacular cars to watch, and by evidence of this onboard footage, pretty exciting to drive as well.
