The Nürburgring 24 hours is a properly treacherous race – probably the most taxing enduro on the calendar. Changeable weather in combination with a healthy sized pack on the always challenging Nordschleife means a high rate of attrition. If you’re along for the ride, you’re going to want to be with the best and thankfully, our chauffeur today is up there. Kevin Estre, Porsche 911 GT3 R – there aren’t many more formidable sportscar combos in the modern era than that.
He had his work cut out in only the first two laps of the 2021 N24 too, with dull overcast conditions turning to a misty haze, turning to a sheet of rain and a glazed track. Yet nothing stops him from demonstrating he is the master of threading the needle, always having a look for a passing opportunity in every braking zone, in every lift. He’s aggressive and more than likely, sooner rather than later, he is getting past. In just two laps, he gets from eleventh to first. Small wonder he’s up for a 963 drive starting this year…
