Video: Six minutes of Porsche 911 rally perfection

I’m not sure I’ll ever tire of seeing modern 911 rally cars blast their way along a stage. Truly, I could probably spend an entire working day watching videos like this, a compilation from YouTube channel Belgian Motorsport of various rally-spec Porsches letting their flat-six engines rip.

We’ve enjoyed 911 rally compilations before with a delightful selection of 997s, but today it’s the turn of the 991. They have an ever-so-slightly different engine note, but the familiar flat-six cry remains. Many of them have wonderfully un-silenced exhausts, blasting along tarmac, gravel and muddy stages. Most of the cars have tremendously short gearing, too, meaning you get to hear the rise and fall of the engines all that more frequently.

Welcome to Goodwood Elevenses, a mid-morning helping of motoring-related amusement to help break up your day. Watch the last video: Thrashing a Tyrrell sixwheeler at Imola | GRR
