You’ve seen enough onboard videos of the Nürburgring Nordschleife to know that it’s fast, flowing, dangerous and just ruddy exciting. And you’ve probably seen more than a few that are onboard a Porsche 911, especially a GT3 R in some kind of race.
But, what you won’t have seen quite so often, is exactly what the driver sees on that rollercoaster ride through the Eifel mountains in said Porsche. Which is what we can present to you today. Driver Alessio Picariello takes us on a tour of the ‘Ring with a camera mounted just about where you would expect his eye-line to be.
It is an exhilarating watch, with the extra head movement that comes from a helmet cam just making it feel all the more frenetic. And then there’s the sound, the 911 GT3 R manages to still sound like a screaming monster even in an era of gradually dumbed down motorsport noises. Just sit back, grab a coffee, and enjoy.
