Les Grandes Marques du Monde à Paris sale has, along with Scottsdale, got 2024 off to a flying start for Bonhams|Cars with the headlining Ferrari Enzo bringing in €3.9million.
Sold for €3,910,000
This example of the revered hypercar is a rare specification, being one of only 12 ordered in Nero Daytona and one of only three ordered in black with a red interior, out of the 400 made. This Paris-delivered car has covered just over 5,900 miles in its life but has been meticulously cared for by its passionate owner with Ferrari dealers throughout its life. The Enzo is proving to be a proper modern-era blue-chip model alongside the LaFerrari that succeeded it and its predecessor, the F50. Other star cars of the Bonhams|Cars Paris sale include…
Sold for €954,500
The car that sparked a genre, the Lamborghini Miura, is always a desirable machine so when one comes available at no reserve, it’s going to get paddles wagging. While €954,500 is a conservative number for a Miura, you can take into consideration that it needs recommissioning before use.
Sold for €621,000
This Lamborghini Countach was a real star car for Bonhams|Cars in Paris, given it made strong money for the model. Admittedly, this is a particularly cool example, being a rare ‘low-body’ specification and a one-of-one LP400S Series II in Blu Notte Metallizzato, among the 237 made. It’s also recognisable as the star car of the 1981 Geneva Motor Show.
Sold for €483,000
Definitely, a left-field entry on the lineup was this Maybach coach build, the production of which actually led to the downfall of the company. We’ve seen these for sale before, they’re about as imposing as it gets. Of course, the Xenatec Cruisero, the coupe Maybach didn’t have the bottle to build. This thing is the peak of garish luxury and opulence, probably not entirely appropriate for a world that was, at the time, grappling with a financial crisis. Its €483,000 price tag might seem a lot, but new this thing was more like €800,000. Bargain…
Sold for €471,500
A very special Vantage, this, given it was the last Volante of its type made, specifically for then-Aston Martin Chairman, Victor Gauntlet. It’s subsequently been upgraded with the 6.3-litre V8 engine and has been regularly cared for and maintained by the Newport Pagnell factory. A beautiful monster that sold well in Paris.
Other stunners from the sale include the gorgeous, 1951 Maserati A6 1500/3C Gran Turismo, which Sold for €460,000, the delightful 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS Touring, which sold for €448,500 and our favourite of the entire lot, a wonderful 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta, which sold for €402,500. We still think it’s undervalued…
