Ahead of its global unveil, Aston Martin has revealed further details about the DBX, its debut SUV, including pricing and interior specification.
The DBX, which is due to be revealed on November 20th in Beijing, China, will cost £158,000 in the UK, a price tag which includes three years of servicing. Order books will open that same day.
As we already know, the DBX will be powered by the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 from the DB11 and Vantage, with an extra 40bhp taking it to 550PS (542bhp) and 700Nm (516lb ft) of torque. Promising a top speed in excess of 180mph and the ability to corner as fast as a Vantage and outbrake a DBS Superleggera, it certainly means business.
As for the cabin, the DBX has undergone an extensive design process, which involved consulting everyone from the brand’s Female Advisory Board to local school children.
Aston Martin say its expertise in hand-crafted interiors sees it utilising class-leading materials, while focusing on making the cabin as ergonomically adaptable as possible – more than six months were spent solely focused on defining the position of the driver within the vehicle, ensuring excellent visibility of all controls and the bonnet. Likewise, each button and dial has been carefully positioned in order to allow accessibility to all in a seamless design. Integrated into this design are new TFT screens and a spacious bridged centre console.
The aforementioned children were invited to the company’s design studio, where they climbed all over an ‘ergonomic assessment model’ and shared their advice. As a result, the rear seats are reportedly kid-approved and spacious.
Both front and rear seats, in fact, feature a class leading legroom, while the full-length panoramic glass roof and large windows lends a sense of spaciousness.
