You might think you’ve seen enough Nürburgring videos to last a lifetime, but just hold on one second and give this one 10 minutes of your time. Rarely has an onboard video managed to get the entire Goodwood office to crowd around one screen and hold their attention for its entirety.
The driver in question is one that you may not have heard of, but his Porsche related CV should be enough to convince you that he knows what he’s doing, especially behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. He’s called Kevin Estre and among many other achievements, he’s won the GTE Pro class at Le Mans, so he’s a bit talented. Even if you ignore his CV, his driving talents become fairly obvious when he takes the lucky passenger onto the Nordschleife.
After settling the nerves of the passenger, who is heading on to the circuit for the very first time in his life, Kevin immediately takes things into maximum attack mode as he plants his foot firmly to the floor at the 1-minute 45-second mark. From here onwards, and with incredible calmn, he sets one of the most impressive laps you’ll ever see of the Green Hell.
He even manages to talk about his inputs on a regular basis and casually points at the speedo as he’s hitting 170mph before entering a flat out left hander. As you can tell, he’s done this before.
