Which F1 drivers will be racing at Revival 2022?

Let’s start with the 2009 F1 World Champion, Jenson Button is racing in both the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy and the RAC TT Celebration, in two separate E-types. In the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy he will race alongside regular historic partner Alex Buncombe and in the TT he will partner GT racer Harrison Newey. Ex-HRT and Lotus F1 driver Karun Chandhok will race in the St. Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul in a Mini Cooper, and in Friday night’s Freddie March Memorial Trophy in a stunning Ferrari 750 Monza.

Mercedes F1 reserve driver Esteban Gutierrez will be racing in an Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint in the St. Mary’s Trophy while former Arrows, Sauber and McLaren driver Pedro de la Rosa will race a Jaguar E-type in the RAC TT. Max Chilton, the new Hill record holder at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, will race a Lotus Cortina in the touring car race.

Which Formula E drivers are racing at the Goodwood Revival?

The brand new Formula E champion, Stoffel Vandoorne is racing another Cortina in the St. Mary’s Trophy and a Jaguar E-type in the RAC TT. Double Formula E champ Jean-Éric Vergne returns to the Revival, racing a Mini Cooper S in the St. Mary’s and a semi-lightweight E-type in the TT.

Are any Le Mans winners racing at Revival?

Plenty. Three-time winner André Lotterer, now a fixture at any Goodwood event, will race again. He’ll be seen in another Mini Cooper in the St. Mary’s Trophy and a semi-lightweight E-type in the TT. Former team-mate at Porsche in both Formula E and the World Endurance Championship, and 2016 Le Mans winner, Neel Jani will race a Cortina as well as a stunning Porsche 904 Carrera GTS in St. Mary’s and TT respectively. Another former Porsche Le Mans winner, Brendon Hartley, who has since won the race twice more with Toyota and raced in Formula 1 with Toro Rosso, will also be in a Mini in our ‘60s touring car battle.

Two more of Lotterer’s former team-mates racing are Romain Dumas – until this year the holder of the outright hill record at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard – in a Ford Galaxie and a Cobra, and Marcel Fassler, who jumps into an Alfa Romeo Giulia and a Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray. To finish the famous Audi winning trio of the early 2010s Benoît Tréluyer drives an Allard 2JX in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy and a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in the RAC TT.

Fifteen Le Mans victories are shared between Tom Kristensen, the most successful racer in the history of La Sarthe, and Goodwood House Captain Emanuele Pirro. Kristensen will race an Alfa Romeo Giulia and a Lister Coupe over the weekend while Pirro is racing a Ferrari 225S Vignale Berlinetta in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy with the extraordinary David Franklin, as well as a 250 SWB in the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy, a 250 LM in the TT and in the Ferrari parade. Multiple GT champion Darren Turner will race a BMW 1800 TISA in the St. Mary’s, and a Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray in the TT while one-time overall winner Jochen Mass will race an E-type in the TT and an Aston Martin DB4 GT in the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy.

What IndyCar drivers will be racing?

Some of the most successful IndyCar racers in history are confirmed as racing at the Revival in 2022. Scott Dixon brings six IndyCar titles and one Indy 500 victory while former Chip Ganassi team-mate Dario Franchitti has four IndyCar titles and a trio of 500 wins. They will share a Jaguar E-type in the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy while Franchitti will also race in the TT in an AC Cobra. Swiss 71-race IndyCar veteran Simona De Silvestro will race a Cooper T33 in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy.

Which bike riders will race at the Revival?

We have a plethora of legends. From the Isle of Man TT, John McGuinness, James Hillier, Steve Plater and Jenny Tinmouth lead those names, all racing in both parts of the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy. British Superbike Championship rider Josh Brookes will also ride as well as former motorcycle grand prix racers Steve Parrish and Jeremy McWilliams.

Are there any touring car drivers racing at the Revival?

Yes. Three-time champion Matt Neal is racing a BMW 1800 TISA in the St. Mary’s and a Sunbeam Lister Tiger in the TT. Fellow triple champ Gordon Shedden races a mighty Ford Galaxie in the St. Mary’s, a GT40 in the Whitsun Trophy, and a Cobra in the TT. The 2013 BTCC champion Andrew Jordan races a Cortina in the St. Mary’s, the vivid Dragonsnake Cobra in the Stirling Moss Memorial and a Corvette Stingray in the TT. Multiple championship runner-up Steve Soper returns to race a Cortina.

Who else is racing at Revival?

Current Ford World Rally Championship driver Craig Breen will make his Revival racing debut in a Lotus Cortina in the St. Mary’s Trophy and, how could we possibly forget, seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson will make his historic racing debut in a Galaxie in the St. Mary’s before racing a Cobra in the RAC TT.
