SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard featured one of the star attraction races of the Members’ Meeting. For those who like more litres than cylinders, the cartoonish S.F. Edge Trophy.
These shed-built specials with aircraft heart transplants and DIY bodywork have been a staple at Goodwood since 75MM. We love them so much, SpeedWeek featured a two-part race of five-lap sprints for a double dose of Edwardian action in place of the usual 20-minute enduro. You can watch Part 1 in full now, which saw us get our first dose of S.F. Edge heroics since the 77th Members’ Meeting at the beginning of last year, over 18 months ago.
The race never fails to amaze, as drivers slingshot from the line to the clatter of their monstrous hundred-year-old engines leaving a smog of Castrol R. It’s not just the cars, either. S.F. Edge Part 1 featured some of the best racing, place-trading and daring driving of the entire event. What a way to start the racing at SpeedWeek. And once you’re done with Part 1, you can watch Part 2 here.
