Recently, we compiled a list of the best sounding V8s ever.

And of those nine we asked you to pick your favourite. Now, we’re not saying that 85.4% of you were wrong, but that’s the percentage of people who didn’t vote for the growling Chevrolet Corvette C7.R…

And so we thought we’d dig up a *gentle* (disclaimer: not at all) reminder of just how blasphemous the 5.5-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine is.

Join the Corvette Racing C7.R at the Sebring International Raceway back in 2019 for one of the last races before Chevrolet switched to the flat-plane crank, mid-mounted V8 engine in the C8.R.

With this engine configuration now consigned to the history books, it’s a marvellous memorial to the shoutiest V8 we know. So, open your ears and revel in the peaks and troughs of its glorious rev range.
